Volunteers and staff comprise WIT’s Sisterhood of Support, providing Volunteers with the opportunity to network with other women whose passion and empathy inspires them to work in domestic violence and substance abuse. WIT provides on-going support to all active volunteers through regular staff supervision, newsletters, meetings and refresher trainings. We work hard to make volunteering at Women In Transition a personally and professionally enriching experience.
WIT offers three types of volunteer opportunities: Play Care, LifeLine Phone Counseling, and Student Internships. Please click within the descriptions below for more information, dates and times, qualifications and requirements for each volunteer position.
Play Care Volunteers
Volunteers play a vital role in increasing accessibility to our services for parents with young children. While mothers or caretakers are participating in group or individual counseling, their children participate in Play Care provided by Volunteers in our Play Care Room!
