Thank you for your interest in working with us at Women In Transition. The work of WIT’s dedicated volunteers enhances our ability to provide vital services to the community.

LifeLine Phone Counseling Volunteers

WIT’s LifeLine phone counseling provides support, information and referral services to individuals who are endangered by domestic violence and/or substance abuse. WIT relies on a diverse and dedicated group of volunteers to staff the LifeLine.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM

LifeLine Volunteers are asked to commit to between 6 and 9 hours each month for a minimum of one year of service. Volunteers must have weekday availability to fulfill shifts.

WIT has the capability to send the LifeLine to your home providing that you have a land line or cell phone, Internet access and basic computer skills.

The LifeLine Volunteer position requires an interview and completion of WIT’s 45-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training. The training sessions are held in our Center City office on a periodic basis. Extensive training and ongoing supervision is also provided.

The position also requires a Pennsylvania Children Abuse History Clearance and a Criminal Background check.
