LifeLine Phone Counseling Volunteers
WIT’s LifeLine phone counseling provides support, information and referral services to individuals who are endangered by domestic violence and/or substance abuse. WIT relies on a diverse and dedicated group of volunteers to staff the LifeLine.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM
LifeLine Volunteers are asked to commit to between 6 and 9 hours each month for a minimum of one year of service. Volunteers must have weekday availability to fulfill shifts.
WIT has the capability to send the LifeLine to your home providing that you have a land line or cell phone, Internet access and basic computer skills.
The LifeLine Volunteer position requires an interview and completion of WIT’s 45-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training. The training sessions are held in our Center City office on a periodic basis. Extensive training and ongoing supervision is also provided.
The position also requires a Pennsylvania Children Abuse History Clearance and a Criminal Background check.
